Hourseback Tour

Unleash your inner horseman while riding through the beautiful and enchanting Mongolian countryside. In this tour, experience Tavan Bogd National Park, Potanin Glacier, Bear Valley, the Sacred Mountain, the Khotun and Khurgan Lakes, waterfalls, and a visit to an eagle hunter’s family and enjoy a delicious meal of the Kazakh National Cuisine: Besbarmak (five fingers in Kazakh), a large and hearty meat plate.All baggage will be carried by camel and you will have help from the local guides as they work with the horses and ensure that everything goes smoothly. Every day we will ride about 20 km for 4-5 hours.

Tour Itinerary

DAY1. Arrive in Bayan Olgii province, home of the local Kazakhs who are famous for their ancient eagle hunting culture. The plane ride takes around 3 hours. At the airport, you will meet our team, English-speaking tour guide, cook(s), and driver with his 4x4 vehicle. Drive to Khoton Lake. Stay by the lake fishing.

DAY2. Horse Ride toAral Hill. First day of horse riding tour. Guides will explain all the important things to know about the local horses and will take care of everyone

DAY3.  Bear Valley, One of most beautiful valleys in the region. Only  in middle of summer and only by horse or trekking it is possible go through and no vehicle can drive over there .Here it is possible to see wildlife such as the red deer, fox, bear and many birds. Enjoy the unique and peaceful nature.

DAY4.  KharSalaa. Travel through the high Tahilt pass between basecamp and lake.  Meet local Tuvan people, who have a different language and a unique belief system: Shamanism. Explore the herders’ lifestyle.

DAY5. White River Valley (south gate of the national park) where the Tuvan people also live. Hiking to Green lake. It is a small lake but with a scenic and beautiful view. The trip takes less than 2 hours

DAY6. Basecamp (3100m). Main camping place in Altai Tavan Bogd National Park. Go along White River. Explore Potanin Glacier, which is 23 square kilometers. 

DAY7. Climbing to Malchin Peak (4050m). The trek will take around 6 hours. The peak is incredibly famous for its view into Russia and also because climbing equipment is not necessary

DAY8.  Go down to Oigor valley, and drive back to Ílgii. Stay night in hotel and firewall dinner at restaurant.

DAY9.  Fly back to Ulaanbaatar
